Revised & Expanded Petty Gods is Back in Print!

Image
Good news! I just discovered that Richard LeBlanc has re-uploaded Revised & Expanded Petty Gods to Lulu. It's only available as a case-wrapped hardback and is currently priced at $21.76 (which is the "at cost" price, which is what Lulu charges creators to print such a project). Of course, shipping and handling are extra.  As one of the named co-editors and one of the writers with the most credits in the tome, I am extremely happy to see this available for purchase once again.

Random Dungeon Generator Exercise: Heart of the Missing Shroom Wizard's Lair

Found the picture through a Google search. Generated the encounters using Wizardawn's excellent Dungeon Builder using the options for Swords & Wizardry. Didn't even read it, but just mashed them together below. Enjoy. image source; click image to embiggen Heart of the Missing Shroom Wizard's Lair An Adventure For 5 Level 7 Characters 1 - The area smells pungent and has a strong downdraft. Harnly's Hole: An Adventure for S&W WhiteBox

UPDATE on 2014-02-03: An updated version of this adventure in PDF format can now be found on the downloads page ! Why do I like Swords & Wizardry WhiteBox ? It's deadly, that's why! It makes for gritty, dangerous dungeon crawls at low-level where the spectre of death is ever-present. This scenario was created using only the monsters found in the WhiteBox ruleset. My preferred version of these rules is the no-longer-available 2nd printing by Brave Halfling Publishing , although you should have no problem running it with the freely available 3rd printing PDF from the Swords & Wizardry website . The stat block are for the monsters as found in the 2nd print and differ slightly from those found on d20swrd.com . This scenario is a grind; there is much risk and slight reward in the way of treasure (but there are treasures!). It is also designed to have 2 of the player characters join the game after their discovery; the DM may opt to run these as NPCs. The Hs ...

The 2000 Coin Dungeon

Image
Consider this my 2¢. Weaver Bob's Hole A Map & Key That Might Not Fit But Any DM Worth His/Her Salt Can Make It Work KEY Room 1 The area looks average compared with other sections of this place. Tossed around the area are a gold music box worth 2000cp, a dagger hilt, a painting of a city, pottery shards scattered around, and a brass spoon +1. Located inside the gold music box  is a white cloth sack containing 2000pp / 2000gp / 2000ep / 2000sp / 2000cp. Room 2 The area is pretty unextraordinary at first glance. Throughout the area are rusty metal pliers, bent metal ladle, a corroded brass dented shield, 3 blank scrolls, a corroded iron pail, and an iron kettle. Room 3 The area has a stillness in the air with an average temperature for the area. You can make out a loud splintering sound coming from somewhere. Throughout the area are purple thread (50 feet), useless quill, mat, cracks in the floor, blue pillow, 6 bent brass hooks o...
