Post Mortem for a Failed Project

As most visitors to this blog know, I am an ardent supporter of fan zines (which is why I maintain the list over here).  I love OSR/RPG fanzines so much, I declared that I was going to publish one.

Yeah . . . that didn't work out so well.

Back in June 2012 I made a great deal of noise about publishing a fan zine, which I entitled RENT ASUNDER!. I even set up a page on this blog explaining what it was and outlining my plans. I began soliciting material from bloggers and received permission from a lot of folks to include material from their blogs in the zine. And then I got too busy and put the zine on the back burner. And then I had triple-thoughts over the Creative Commons license vs. the OGL. And now, evidently, I haved turned the back burner off without letting anyone know.

Let me make it official: RENT ASUNDER! is dead.

And now Gorgonmilk has started his free fan zine with legs, Underworld Lore. I was willingly roped in to contributing content to UL on a semi-continual basis. And writing stuff for UL made me feel guilty that I never did the work for RA! and I let down all those folks who graciously gave me permission to use their work.

So here's what I'd like to do. I don't have everyone's emails, and I'm not on Google+ (I avoid social networking sites, as I teach at a Kansas community college and, well, this  . . .). If I solicited material from you for my non-existent zine, I'd be much obliged if you would allow me to transfer the right to use that material to Gorgonmilk for use in Underworld Lore at some point (the zine uses the OGL).

Below are links to the particular posts I solicited. If your blog is on the list, please leave a comment on this post to let me know if we could use the linked posts for Underworld Lore at some future-as-yet-to-be-determined date. Nothing will be used without your consent, of course.
